The loss of BTY YoungN will be felt for decades to come

bty-youngn-killed

This past Saturday, we lost a legend – Desmone “BTY YoungN” Jerome, or “Dee” as he was known to close friends and family. His life was taken via a senseless act and we are still attempting to understand the “why” of it all. We may never know. We may not even really need to know. What we are aware of is the fact that someone so special has been needlessly stolen from us and it left a void in our hearts.

For anyone who truly knew BTY YoungN, this is a devastating loss and one we will never forget. We will carry on his legacy though, for his son, mother, sister, and his other family and friends who knew and adored him. He was a special individual. He was unique. He is irreplaceable to both the entertainment world and ours. YoungN left a mark on the hearts of those who knew him best.

We love you YoungN. And you knew this. Please look over us and keep us safe. We are just completely heartbroken right now, but we will find a way soon to make a positive out of this most negative situation. Your spirit and bright ways will live on forever.

Love, Your Friends & Family

They say “trends” and “classics” tend to come back around after several decades. We can only hope this is true with music, particularly rap music and the art of emceeing. Will we see a resurgence in REAL, true Hip Hop any time soon? That remains to be seen. Until then though, we can thank sites like Hip Hop Golden Age (HHGA) for keeping the real alive and relevant.
