In what in probably one of the most remarkable projects by a music artist this year, J Lyric (@JASONLYRIC) just released the visuals to “Justice”, a new song based on current events and the historically racist acts and injustices perpetrated in the U.S.
In “Justice”, J Lyric stands up to racism, classism, and greed, and he makes a solid statement against those social ills that seem to have brought the country to its knees in the recent past. He also seeks to show nothing but respect for heroes like Colin Kaepernick, the NFL star who took a stand against police brutality and state sanctioned killings of African-Americans, through the use of deadly force during traffic stops and similar situations.
Follow J Lyric on his journey not only as a music artist, but also on his quest to shine a light on the dark areas that have contributed to injustices perpetuated on countless Americans – for if we do not admit mistakes have been made and strive to fix them, none of us can live up to the potential that we, as human beings, have a duty to live up to – our children’s dreams, as well as our own, will cease to exist until and unless we begin to figure out how to right the wrongs of our past.
They say “trends” and “classics” tend to come back around after several decades. We can only hope this is true with music, particularly rap music and the art of emceeing. Will we see a resurgence in REAL, true Hip Hop any time soon? That remains to be seen. Until then though, we can thank sites like Hip Hop Golden Age (HHGA) for keeping the real alive and relevant. You can also count on their countdowns on the dopest albums, artists, producers, and DJs of all time, as well as some of the best playlists you’ll find anywhere.
“Iron Bars” is the creation of four of the dopest emcees to ever touch a mic. The production is pure, unadulterated Hip Hop laced with solid lyrics and a Kool G Rap hook that rivals any verse in rap history. Papoose, Uniqme and Canibus show off their true lyrical skills, with clever word play and a solid flow.
The song from rising star Jay Jones features R&B sensation Denisia.
Jay Jones hit the scene several years ago and has steadily been making moves ever since. This multiple award winning artist is working hard to solidify a position among the greats. His lyrical skills are unrivaled. Jay has toured and performed with major artists, including Lil Wayne, Fetty Wap, Dej Loaf, and more. He was also featured on Fetty Wap’s “The Zoo”, a hit song with a video that garnered millions of views. Jay has also been working closely with Lil Wayne.

The single is from four of New Orleans’ premiere artists, CEO Drama (CEO of Flawless Entertainment), 3D Na-Tee (one of the top females emcees), Kidd Kidd (of G-Unit), and Jahbo (the former No Limit hookman). They collaborate on “The N.O.”, lacing gritty lyrics and clever wordplay over this bass laden track. This is sure to become the new N.O. “anthem”.

From the artist Shorty who brought his fans the popular singles “Weekend” and “Tipsy“, comes the new single featuring G-Unit’s most recent XXL Freshman class member, KiddKidd.
Shorty is excited about the single and so are we! “I Luv Em” is set to be one of the hottest songs in the nation, especially given the Shorty x Kidd Kidd collaborative influence. In addition, Shorty and Kidd Kidd will be releasing a joint project later this year. Be on the lookout for the New Orleans natives and what their teaming up brings to the table.
The game’s stayed the same, but it just got more fierce!
