OG JLyric interviews with The Heat Magazine

It’s been a while since we had a chance to speak with veteran New Orleans rapper OG JLyric. We recently caught up with him so we can catch up. We learned what he’s working on and what’s next up for this incredible entertainer.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: So what have you been up to since the last time we had the opportunity to interview you?

OG JLYRIC: Just working on my craft releasing a few freestyles here and there until I drop my official single “2 Fronts” coming soon.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: You have such an interesting history in rap music. For our readers who may need a refresher, how did you get your start in music?

OG JLYRIC: I’ve been a fan of music my entire life. I really studied the OGs of New Orleans like UNLV, PNC and artists like that who were successful from as far back as I can remember. UNLV embraced me when I was young and really gave me the game and confidence I needed to move forward.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: You’ve done quite a few features with some of the biggest names in entertainment. What’s up next for you?

OG JLYRIC: What’s next is my new single “2 Fronts” produced by. EV I’m really excited about this record and I can’t wait for the people to hear it.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: How did you come up with the concept for your recent freestyles?

OG JLYRIC: I was in the crib bored actually, so I got of the lazy boy and called Cas Major lol

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What projects/singles are your currently preparing to debut?

OG JLYRIC: My new single “2 Fronts” and my new album “I Can’t Make This Up”.

(NEW MUSIC) @JayJones17th x @HollygroveKeem0017th x @BTY_YoungN – “Cut the Check” (ALBUM)

ctcfront1

New Orleans’ 17th Ward has long been known as a hotbed of solid and unique talent – a mecca, if you will. The proverbial torch has been handed down from the legends to a new crop of lyrical creatives that includes and is a led by Jay Jones, Hollygrove Keem and prior to his recent untimely death, BTY YoungN. The trio has an amazing and unrivaled energy and are sure to leave quite a mark on the entertainment world.

The trio’s new album “Cut the Check” is a precursor to much more new music, but is a classic in and of itself. “Cut the Check” includes the smash hit with Fetty Wap entitled “The Zoo”, and contains features from the legendary Jay Da Menace (of Black Menace), recent 300 signee Navè Monjo, T3, AR-Ab, Remyboy Monty, and C-Dash. Breakout hit “Stay Down” is also included in the dope tracklisting.

Jay Jones recently began touring with Lil Wayne’s Kloser 2 U Tour and has traveled across the U.S. performing in various shows, including Wayne’s SXSW headlined show. Hollygrove Keem is a sought after rapper, having featured on countless songs with more material set to be released soon. At the time of his death on April 29th, BTY YoungN was a rising star affiliated with Cash Money/Rich Gang, and was a well-known rapper and entertainment personality. His loss created a ripple effect throughout the music world.

“Cut the Check” is available for download/streaming everywhere music is sold, including iTunes, Google Play, Amazon Music, Spotify, Tidal, JPay, and hundreds of other international outlets.

Client Tha Natural teams up with Kevin Gates for a hit entitled “Gave Me Life”

tngml

One talk with Nateese “Tha Natural” Jones and you can be certain you aren’t conversing with just any rapper. In fact, you can be certain you aren’t talking with just an Average Joe.

Tha Natural is wise beyond his years. Could it be his experiences growing up between L.A. and Houston? Perhaps. Or does it come from living the fast life and where that can lead a kid? Who knows? And really, who cares? Because all that matters now is that Mr. Jones is getting his life in order so he can move on to bigger and better things – which in all reality, is currently taking place.

Tha Natural has a promising career that’s growing by leaps and bounds and he’s getting his business (Loss Life ENT) in order. This collaboration with Kevin Gates over an @KalaniOnTheBeat track is opening many doors, as the single gains traction in the digital realm.
