Be100Radio, iAssist & Loss Life Ent present SXSW Artist Showcase and Panel at Club New York New York  

The SXSW Artist Showcase and Panel will take place at Austin’s lush venue Club New York New York on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. iAssist’s own Miss Megann will join Deb Antney’s Be100Radio and Houston’s super imprint Loss Life Ent, for this highly anticipated event featuring a ton of young urban talent, as well as panel discussions.

Miss Megann is one of the premiere talent procurers within the urban music genre and she brings years of experience in artist development to the table. She is also one of the most sought after showcase organizers in the country. Miss Megann’s iAssist specializes in providing massive exposure to independent artists both locally in Texas and around the country. Deb Antney is the founder and chief executive officer of Mizay Entertainment, a renowned talent management company responsible for launching the careers of many well-known rap acts, including French Montana, Lex Luger, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, OJ Da Juiceman, and others. Loss Life Ent is an upcoming imprint out of Houston, Texas. It houses several hot young artists, along with a luxury recording studio that offers every in-house service an independent artist needs to go to the next level, including photography/videography, graphic design, printing, consultations, and much more.

Go DJ NuNu and DJ Waffles will provide the music for the event. Go DJ NuNu is one of the premiere DJs in the South. DJ Waffles is a well-known radio host/DJ and video correspondent with Hip Hop Weekly. Given the talent and large following of this duo, the event is certain to be a memorable success. Numerous up and coming artists will be featured in the showcase, including Tha Natural, Yung Blaze, Stunna Bam, Spilly, Yung Ruler, Majick, Tuffy, Money Gang Slugga, and many more. A few performance slots remain available. Sauce Walka will also make an appearance.

In what in probably one of the most remarkable projects by a music artist this year, J Lyric (@JASONLYRIC) just released the visuals to “Justice”, a new song based on current events and the historically racist acts and injustices perpetrated in the U.S.

In “Justice”, J Lyric stands up to racism, classism, and greed, and he makes a solid statement against those social ills that seem to have brought the country to its knees in the recent past.  He also seeks to show nothing but respect for heroes like Colin Kaepernick, the NFL star who took a stand against police brutality and state sanctioned killings of African-Americans, through the use of deadly force during traffic stops and similar situations.

Follow J Lyric on his journey not only as a music artist, but also on his quest to shine a light on the dark areas that have contributed to injustices perpetuated on countless Americans – for if we do not admit mistakes have been made and strive to fix them, none of us can live up to the potential that we, as human beings, have a duty to live up to – our children’s dreams, as well as our own, will cease to exist until and unless we begin to figure out how to right the wrongs of our past.

They say “trends” and “classics” tend to come back around after several decades. We can only hope this is true with music, particularly rap music and the art of emceeing. Will we see a resurgence in REAL, true Hip Hop any time soon? That remains to be seen. Until then though, we can thank sites like Hip Hop Golden Age (HHGA) for keeping the real alive and relevant. New Orleans superstar J Lyric (a/k/a @JASONLYRIC on social media) just released his new single entitled “Facetime“. The song features internet sensation and fellow rapper Tokyo Vanity (@TokyoXVanity). As you can see, the visuals are on point and showcase the beauty of New Orleans’ world famous Lakefront. Yuset Pozo and Rafael Medina directed the video which includes drone shots far above Lake Ponchartrain and the drop top Bentley occupied by Tokyo during filming. Comedians Mario P (@_MarioDaComic_) and Rob Kazi (@tob_kazi) also have cameos and can be seen macking on Tokyo and her friends in classic New Orleans style!

In the first few days after Spinrilla leaked the single, it garnered over 20,000 downloads. “Facetime” is available for purchase on all major digital retail outlets, including iTunes, Google Play, Amazon, and more and is, of course, available for streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and all other major streaming platforms.

Be on the lookout for new music from J Lyric, including a project entitled “Loyalty Over Love“, where he will drop nothing but hits. This is an artist to watch. He’s put in work for a minute and it’s about to pay off in huge dividends.
